Travels in Textiles with Anne Kelly - Sunday 3rd November 2019

Working from a collection of photos or postcards, old receipts, brochures, we will create a folding book or collaged piece using these elements. The resulting piece will be a personal response to a special place or event. Stitch, drawing and collage will be used. You will be able to select a theme, place or event and a colour theme for your chosen place. You will also be able to use writing/lyrics as part of your work. You will receive a list of any materials you need to bring with you closer to the time*.
INCLUDED: Materials* and equipment provided a lovely homemade lunch, cake and refreshments to keep you well fuelled through out the day!
Anne is an award winning textile artist, author and tutor based in the UK, exhibiting and teaching internationally. Her three books for Batsford represent her project and collaborative work. Anne’s heavily embroidered fabric collages are reminiscent of tapestry work and her signature stitching technique is applied to a variety of surfaces. She uses mixed media and print to further embellish her work. Anne ‘s work is represented in private and public collections in the UK and abroad. She is listed in the Crafts Council Directory.
Anne’s second book ‘Textile Nature’ was launched at the Knitting and Stitching Shows’ in 2016. It has been reprinted and sold around the world. Her third book ‘Textile Folk Art” was published in August and links her continued interests in working with groups, nature conservation and folk art. Her third book ‘Textile Folk Art’ was launched at the Knitting and Stitching Show in Harrogate in 2018.
