Boro Workshop with Janice Gunner - Sunday 13th October 2019
Sunday 13th October 2019 10am - 4pm
We are delighted to welcome textile artist Janice Gunner to Needle & Thread for two Japanese textile themed workshops!
Boro is the Japanese word for rags, these much sought after recycled garments and bed covers were repaired and reused out of necessity. Spend a day with Janice Gunner learning all about these unintended works of art. Taking inspiration from Janice's real Japanese Boro and new pieces she has made in this style to make a small piece of your own using new or recycled cotton fabrics with simple piecing methods and relaxing Sashiko style hand stitching.
Includes: Lunch, cake & refreshments and some materials. Any materials you need to bring will be emailed to you in advance of the workshop.
