Indigo Dye with Eco Print and Rust with Maria Thomas Textile Artist - Saturday 8th June 2019

Discover how to set up an Indigo vat, master botanical contact printing on both fabric & paper and explore the magic of rusty things. Along with sampling simple Shibori resist techniques, you may also fold and bind your own small garments or items. Please bring along a small vest, top, scarf or similar to up-cycle, 100% natural fibers work best.
You may also wish to bring rubber gloves & an apron, along with a journal and pen and camera to record your creative journey.
Please note a range of fabric will be provided for sampling.
Maria Thomas Textile Artist
A love of fashion and sewing lead Maria to taking an ND in Printed Textiles at Mid-Warwickshire College, Leamington Spa in the late 1980’s. Keeping her connection with stitch she went on to Study BA Embroidery at Manchester School of Art and in turn completed an MA Textiles at the UCE in Birmingham.
Since graduating Maria has taught drawing, embroidery and printed textile design at degree and FE level. She has designed freelance for fashion, exhibited regularly and has work in public and private collections in the UK & overseas.
