Machine Stitched Flowers with Gillian Travis - Saturday 4th November
** FULLY BOOKED PLEASE EMAIL ME TO PUT YOUR NAME ON THE WAITING LIST **
Saturday 4th November 10am - 4pm
"I love the vibrant colours of echinacea's and daisies, the feel of 100% wool felt, and the appearance of hand stitching but I have a busy life with little time for hand stitching. Using the right thread, the correct needle and a little bit of know how it is possible to make machine stitching look like hand stitching! Some of my art quilts look like they were hand stitched, I have stitched the flowers on to a pieced felt background to add interest ".
In this workshop you will piece the background, learn how to transfer the design of the flowers and then experiment with threads to stitch the flowers.
If you have a source picture or picture of your favourite flowers then you may like to bring it with you, however Gillian has patterns that you may use on the day. Gillian likes Echinacea and Rudbeckia flowers but others work well too.
Gillian Travis is an award-winning quilt maker who travels extensively, taking lots of photos which she then uses to inspire her colourful and visually cheerful works. We also spoil you with a delicious lunch, and serve you with copious amounts of Tea, coffee and Homemade delicious cake to keep you going! (all included).
