Sashiko Workshop with Janice Gunner - Saturday 12th October 2019
Saturday 12th October 2019 10am - 4pm (1 place remaining)
We are delighted to welcome Janice Gunner to Needle & Thread for two fascinating workshops on Japanese textiles!
The gentle art of Japanese quilting has fascinated me for many years. I learnt the technique from my friend Rosemary Muntus in 1988 and in 1991 I was awarded two first prizes at The Great British Quilt Festival for a piece I made called Kamon.
During this workshop I will introduce you to the delights of this technique. I have designed two patterns for you to choose from, one of which is the sample seen here. I will discuss designs, demonstrate marking, hand stitching techniques and finishing techniques.
Included: All materials and equipment, healthy lunch, cake and refreshments.
